Regularize your business by registering with the National Social Security Authority (NSSA). All employers are required by the law to register with National Social Security Authority. Whether you are in the formal or informal sector, you are liable to register with NSSA.

NSSA operates two schemes to which employers contribute. The Workers Compensation & Insurance Fund (WCIF) which is funded entirely by employers for the purpose of providing benefits to employees and/or their beneficiaries in the event of a workplace injury or death.

The National Pension Scheme which is funded equally by both employers and employees. The fund provides benefits to employees and/or their beneficiaries in the event of retirement, invalidity or death.

Requirements for NSSA registration

To register with NSSA, you only need to provide the following.

  • Certificate of incorporation
  • Cr6 (CR14)
  • Cr5 (Cr6)
  • Contact details of the company phone number, physical address and emails
  • Any two directors certified copies of IDs and personal contact details
  • Company business
  • Bank details
  • Employee details – full name, id, DOB,address, phone numbers, salary

What do you obtain after NSSA Registration.

  • After a successful NSSA registration a company is issued an SSR Number.
  • Employees are allocated SSN
  • Registration should be done within 30 days of becoming an employer, by completing employer registration form P2 and ensure that employees complete employee registration form P3.
  • Penalties apply for late payments, returns should be submitted on or before the 10th of every month.
