What is Zimbabwe Investment and Development Agency (ZIDA).
The Zimbabwe Investment and Development Agency (ZIDA) is a statutory body in Zimbabwe with the mandate to promote, facilitate, and coordinate both foreign direct investment (FDI) and local investment.
ZIDA key functions.
Investment Promotion:-ZIDA actively works to attract investors to Zimbabwe by showcasing investment opportunities and participating in relevant events.
Investment Facilitation:-It provides comprehensive support to investors throughout their investment journey, streamlining processes related to regulations, licenses, and approvals.It operates a One Stop Investment Services Centre (OSISC), which aims to simplify and expedite the investment process.
ZIDA Objectives.
- To promote, plan and implement Investment Promotion Strategies.
- To facilitate entry and implement of investor plans.
- To establish and regulate Special Economic Zones (SEZ).
- To promote, Review and recommend Public Private Partnerships.
- To provide Aftercare and monitoring to investors.
Requirements for a new ZIDA License.
The law requires that every foreign company registered in Zimbabwe with a shareholding of 51% should register with ZIDA. The following are required documents for an investor or company to register with ZIDA.
- Completed ZIDA Application Form (online)
- Business Plan/Concept
- Company registration documents
- Certified copies of:
- Certificate of Incorporation
- CR6/14
- CR5
- CR16/ Beneficial ownership declaration form in a case where the shareholder(s) is a corporate
- Memorandum and Articles of Association.
- Passport copies and/or IDs for shareholders
- Company profile in a case where a shareholder(s) is a company.
- Power of attorney where application is made by an Agent or representative other than the investor.
- Any other relevant documents may be requested on a case by case basis US$500.00 Non-refundable Application fees payable upon submission of application US$4,500.00 License fee is payable upon approval of application.
